It includes radar composites, satellite images, soundings, surface and upper-air maps, and much more. SPC severe events archive This is another good place to get started with surface and upper air analyses, soundings, etc.
It also does have a few archived images for quick looks. MesoWest Outstanding real-time and archived surface observations from both standard sources and the various mesonets around the country. Contains a wealth of archived observations that can be easily plotted via their web interface.

Is there any needed naming convention for the bufkit file? I get the same errors as Brian using Xenia. Tim Supinie EF2. Mar 2, 52 11 Norman, OK. I was able to load a Bufkit file from IEM into the latest version of Xenia, both using the binary and when running from the source code. However, there is currently a bug that shows up after loading in which you can't switch between the forecast hours.
You might try to update to the latest version of Xenia. I've fixed a few bugs since the release that might affect the ability to load in Bufkit soundings from disk. Loading bufkit files from disk should also work in the development version.
I'll see if I can fix the bug with the forecast hours. Reactions: Brian G. I'm getting the same error as Brian running the v1. I just got the latest version from the master branch. Are we forgetting something? Please let us know of other archives that are available for Iowa data. Automated downloads from the Google Drive are difficult, but is your only option if the next link below does not have your files of interest.
The intention is to keep about the last year's worth of data available here. This archive goes back to the beginning of MRMS, but the number of data types archived varies. Before then, only base reflectivity was saved.
